Whether you are preparing for summer or embarking on a winter adventure, it’s important to know what to wear on a road trip!

This article will outline the do’s and don’t of choosing the perfect road trip clothing for your journey. Comfort should be the absolute priority when you’re on a long car ride!

Use the tips below to select the perfect road trip outfit for your adventure. Remember, you will be spending most of your time in the car so it’s important to be comfortable!

Wear Loose Comfortable Clothing

When you spend a long time in the car it’s important to avoid tight clothes. With your back pressed against the seat, you will likely get too hot in the summer heat. Even with the ac on, your back can get too hot leaving you feeling sweaty and uncomfortable.

Stick to loose, breathable clothing so that you feel fresh as you embark on your road trip adventure. You can always add on more layers if you feel a little cold. Loose clothes will mean you keep cool during the midday heat. It’s easier to add layers on than it is to avoid getting too hot if you wear something really thick and warm.

Pack Some Sneakers Or Slip Ons

Having comfortable footwear of a casual nature will be perfect for your summer road trip. Don’t wear footwear that exposes your feet. When you’re on a road trip you might stop off at a random nature spot for a walk or picnic. You will want your feet to be nice and protected from the elements and perhaps insect bites.

If you are going hiking, take two pairs of footwear. That way you can change into your casual shoes for the journey and put on your hiking boots when you set off on an enjoyable outdoor adventure.

Keep It Casual

It can be tempted to dress to impress, but road trips are all about having a spontaneous adventure! Wear clothes you would wear when you are letting your hair down and having fun.

The other thing to remember is you will likely be enjoying coffee while on the road as well as some delicious road trip snacks. Keeping it casual means you don’t need to worry if you spill something on yourself, just laugh it off!

Wear Layers That Are Easy To Remove

When you’re in the car it can be tricky to put clothes on and off while still keeping your seatbelt fastened. A good solution to this is using a zip-up sweater that can be easily put on or removed!

Take A Handbag For Your Essentials

Take a nice handbag to keep all of your important items in. No need to overpack if its just a day out, but it’s nice to have a place to store all your essentials. Don’t forget to take your sunglasses and cap if you plan to be out in the warm weather.
